What is precision forging?
Precision Die Forging is a processing method that uses forging and pressing equipment to apply pressure on metal blanks placed in shaped dies, causing plastic deformation to obtain workpieces with specified mechanical properties, shapes and dimensions. For important components in relevant machinery that bear high loads and operate under severe working conditions, forgings are basically the primary choice for manufacturing.
Precision die forging technology is based on the successful development of interdisciplinary high technologies such as new materials, new energy, information technology and automation technology. It has transformed the traditional forming technology of forging blanks, upgrading the conventional forming process into a high-precision, lightweight, low-cost and pollution-free forming process.
Compared with conventional die forging, precision die forging can produce forgings with superior surface quality, minimal machining allowances and higher dimensional accuracy.
At present, precision die forging is mainly applied in two aspects:
First, blank precision refinement, namely replacing rough cutting processes with Precision Forging technologies, and directly performing finish machining on precision forgings to obtain finished parts.
Second, precision forging of finished parts, which means directly producing finished parts through precision die forging.
